Apple is a potential buyer of Nokia’s HERE mapping business

According to a report in Bloomberg, Apple is among the potential buyers for Nokia’s HERE mapping business. The Cupertino giant is among the high-profile suitors approached by the Finnish company nokia about interest.

Other potential buyers of HERE include Alibaba, Amazon, Facebook, Baidu, and a group of German carmakers among others. A number of private equity firms are also said to be interested.
Nokia has been working with a financial advisor on the sale of its mapping unit. The Finnish company  nokia is seeking more than €3 billion (about $3.2 billion), with the first bids due to arrive at the end of next week.
Nokia has been busy making headlines lately. The company acquired Alcatel-Lucent for €15.6 billion. It is also rumored to return to making phones next year.
An acquisition of HERE would make a great deal of sense for Apple, as it will give its own Maps service a welcome boost. Since its launch in 2012, the Cupertino giant’s mapping service has failed to catch up to Google Maps.

Oppo teases phone with upgraded Super VOOC, charges in single digit minutes. We were quite impressed by the speed of the 50W Super VOOC charging when  we tested it , so seeing that Oppo VP Brian Shen is teasing an upgraded version on Weibo made our eyebrows rise. Apparently, the first device with the revamped Super VOOC will come out this year. It will have a 4,000mAh battery and it will need just minutes for a full charge. How many minutes? Galaxy Note III to hit UK on Sept 16, Xperia Z1 on Sept 24

Samsung is doing great job so far keeping the Galaxy Note III phablet under wraps and we are yet to see leaked pictures of the actual device. However we spotted renders , specs, panels, different model rumors, and, most recently a launch date. Today's piece of info comes for Three UK internal document, which contains various devices release dates including the Samsung Galaxy Note III and Sony Xperia Z1 . According to this leaked doc Three UK will be launching the Samsung Galaxy Note III on September 16, while the Xperia Z1 flagship will hit the UK shelves on September 24. If the document is indeed authentic, we guess the other UK carriers and retailers will be getting the two devices around the same time, as well as the rest of the world's major markets.
